With the Medicare Annual Enrollment period right around the corner, it is important to understand your options. Hello, Medicare community, my name is Tara Pisano, your Medicare educator for Elite Insurance Partners and MedicareFAQ.com. In this video, we will help guide you through the necessary steps to prepare for the Annual Enrollment period and help you get the most out of your Medicare coverage. Let's get started. The Medicare Annual Enrollment period runs from October 15th through December 7th each year. During this time, Medicare beneficiaries can review and make changes to their existing coverage for the upcoming year. Before making any changes, evaluate your current Medicare coverage. Take a close look at your Medicare Advantage or Medicare Part D plan to identify any gaps or areas that need improvement. You'll wanna pay close attention to benefits, costs, and your plan’s limitations. Considering your healthcare needs for the upcoming year is an essential step in determining the right coverage for you. Are you expecting any significant medical changes or procedures? Have any new prescriptions or ongoing treatments? By answering these questions and others like them, you can understand what changes you may need to make in terms of coverage to best meet your needs. If you're already enrolled in a Medicare Advantage or Part D plan pay attention to any changes in your plan's benefits, network providers, or drug formulary. Your annual notice of change will outline any changes to your plan's coverage for the new year. It's crucial to review this document to ensure your current plans still meet your needs. If you decide your plan no longer meets your needs, It is time to consider alternative options available in your area. The Annual Enrollment period is the perfect time to explore other Medicare plans available in your area. Compare Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Part D prescription drug plans to see what each offers. Review factors like premiums, deductibles, copays, and drug formularies to make an informed decision. Additionally, If you are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan and are unsatisfied with your coverage or network of doctors, this may be the time to return to Original Medicare and pick up a Medicare Supplement plan if you qualify. This may be the right option for you if you wish to have more freedom to choose your doctors and where you receive care. We understand that Medicare can feel impossible to conquer. That is why we believe working with a licensed insurance agent who understands Medicare coverage is a great option. We are here to help you fully understand the plans available in your area and help you work through options that might be right for you. The Annual Enrollment period lasts from October 15th, through December 7th, but don't wait until December 7th to enroll in coverage. Once you know which changes you wish to make, It is important to submit your application early to ensure a smooth transition. Planning ahead and enrolling in the right coverage for your needs can help keep your costs low and prevent unnecessary out-of-pocket costs when you receive health care.
