Welcome Medicare community. My name is Ashlee Zareczny, your Medicare expert for Elite Insurance Partners and mMedicareFAQ.com. In today's video, we're going to go over everything you need to know about Medicare Supplement High Deductible Plan G. Medicare Supplement plans are designed to help cover the out-of-pocket cost left by Original Medicare. There are several types of Medicare Supplement plans available, each offering unique benefits. Medicare Supplement High Deductible Plan G is a great alternative for those who find the benefits of the standard Plan G attractive but are looking to pay a little bit less in monthly premiums. High Deductible Plan G has the exact same benefits as a standard Plan G. The only difference is that you must meet your plan's annual deductible before your benefits will kick in at 100%. This high deductible is what keeps the monthly premium significantly lower than other Medicare Supplement plans. Let's break it down. For example, if the average monthly premium for standard Plan G in your area is around $150 a month. This means that you would spend a total of $1,800 in monthly premiums over the year. Now let's compare that to the High Deductible Plan G. Let's say that the High Deductible Plan G's monthly premium is around $60 per month in your area. That means that over a 12 month period, you would spend a total of $720 out-of-pocket compared to the $1,800 with a standard Plan G. However, if you go to the doctor's office multiple times throughout the year and meet your annual high deductible that will increase your total out-of-pocket costs for the year. Once you meet your deductible, your Medicare Supplement High Deductible Plan G will provide coverage for expenses like co-payments, co-insurance, and even certain foreign travel emergencies. Medcare Supplement High Deductible plans can offer significant cost savings for those who have minimal medical expenses. If you rarely visit the doctor or require medical treatments, this plan could be an excellent option for you. However, if you have more frequent medical needs or anticipate higher health care costs, you might want to consider other Medigap plans with lower deductibles. Keep in mind, the deductible amount can change each year. So it's important to review your plan's details and any updates annually. It's essential to carefully evaluate your health care needs and budget before choosing a plan. Consulting with a licensed Medicare insurance agent or a Medicare advisor can help you make an informed decision. Thank you so much for watching. I hope you found this video helpful.
