The Ultimate Guide for Medicare Supplement Plan G
Show Notes Transcript

Medicare Supplement plans cover the holes left by Original Medicare. If you became Medicare-eligible after January 1, 2020, Medicare Supplement Plan G is the most comprehensive plan available for you.

Medicare Supplement plans are standardized by the federal government. This means benefits are the same regardless of carrier. The only difference is the monthly premium.

Medicare Supplement Plan G coverage includes the Medicare Part A deductible, Hospice copayments and coinsurance, foreign travel emergency benefits, and Medicare Part B excess charges.

The only out-of-pocket costs you will pay when you enroll in Medicare Supplement Plan G are the Medicare Part B deductible and the Plan G premium.

If you are newly eligible for Medicare and are within your Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment Period, you can enroll in Medicare Supplement Plan G with no underwriting health questions. If you apply outside of this enrollment period, you may need to go through underwriting. This means a carrier may deny you for any reason.

Are you Medicare eligible and trying to decide what Medicare supplement best fits your needs? Well in today's video we will be discussing Medicare Supplement Plan G. Hi Medicare Community. I'm Ashlee Zareczny Medicare expert with Elite Insurance Partners and MedicareFAQ.com. If you became Medicare eligible after January 1st of 2020, Medicare Supplement Plan G would be your most comprehensive Medicare Supplement Plan on the market today. Like other Medicare supplements, Medicare Supplement Plan G fills in the gaps that Original Medicare Part A and Part B, leave behind. Furthermore, because Medicare supplements are standardized by the federal government, Medicare Supplement Plan G benefits are the same regardless of carrier you choose. However, your monthly premium may vary. Medicare Supplement Plan G covers the Medicare Part A deductible, covers hospice co-payments and coinsurance, additional foreign travel emergency benefits, and also covers Medicare Part B excess charges. The only out-of-pocket responsibility for you is the monthly premium and the annual Medicare Part B deductible. If you are newly eligible for Medicare Parts A and Part B and within your six-month Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment window. You can apply for a Medicare Supplement Plan G without answering medical health questions. If you are outside your six-month Medicare Supplement, Open Enrollment window, you can still enroll in a Medicare Supplement Plan G. However, you may be required to go through medical underwriting.
